Che weekend... - What a weekend...

What a weekend...

What a weekend... To have known what I have to be make me nervous. I'm accumulating so tension that I think I'm going to blow up.
But I don't have to blow up, I have to relax myself because this was a difficult and tiring weekend.
I need to sleep because tomorrow morning I'm going to school and, seeing that it's the end of the third year of middle school, I'm going to do the athletic competition of the school. I'm going to do the drag race. 800 meters aren't too many, but with them I can try to let my light shine. I'm afraid to can't get a good result.
And if during my competition I fall down? All the people will laugh...
It could be humiliated, specially because all people of the school are going to take part to the competition...
We have already done a competition like the one of tomorrow with another class and I beat the girls, but tomorrow there will also be Marta.
They have told me that she has done athletic for years, and that she runs so fast.
If I look her, with all her piercings and her male haircut, she looks like a strange person, but maybe this is also an impression, maybe she is also funny.
Funny or strange, she is a rival.
I have to bear her, I have to beat my last half, I have to win.

Loro ci sarebbero sempre stati -They'll be always here for me

Loro ci sarebbero sempre stati

"L'Italia... Un paese significativo... Sono tutti paesi significativi... Secoli...
Sì, i miei genitori per me ci sarebbero sempre stati.

They'll be always here for me

"Italy... An important country... They are all important countries... Centuries... You don't get old until you meet the right person, your better half.
The teleportation was my first power, than I've learnt to know better myself. I don't know what could be your first power, or if you have already have one and you have never payed particular attention to it, I don't know if you will have powers in the future, but this is what you need to know.".
"Doctor is coming here!" it was mum's voice, who has just came back in the room with the doctor.
While he was visiting me, my head was over, I didn't know if I could take seriously my parents and my grandmother. How it can be possible to have magical powers? Was there other people who have magical powers? It was probably so but... Were them all good people? On the face of dad's story, it seemed that not all the people with magic powers are good. But we were good people. Wasn't it? Crazy... I was talking like I was one of them, like it was all true, but I didn't want to be it, I just want to be myself, I didn't want to change my life. I was afraid of what could happen, I was afraid to remain alone.
Alone... My friends won't surely accept myself. I couldn't tell them nothing, I'll have to keep everything inside me. I will be alone. No, I won't. It will be my parents and grandma. Or maybe, if I won't have magical powers, being not to their height, they will see me as a weight.
"So, can you reply me?" it was the doctor who was talking to me, but I didn't hear him.
I look at mum, she gave me one of her comforting looks that warmed up my heart. Yes, my parents will be always here for me.

In un vicolo buio... - In a dark alley...

O forse no...
Ero in Italia...

In a dark alley

Mum replied: "Oh, nothing darling..."
"Veronica, find the doctor and tell him that our daughter has just woken up.".
Mum nodded and left us alone. Ad least dad would tell everything to me, he would clarify my ideas and everything would be return at the normality... Or maybe not...
"Luna, honey, mum and I haven't ever told you nothing because we have tried to protect you, but your grandmother have preceded us."
"So she wasn't a dream, was she really in my room? How could she enter and remain next to me without I could noticed her?"
"Hey, keep calm. Please, leave me talk a second." I nodded determinate to try to don't have prejudices.
"I was saying... Grandmother at the old age home told you that we are... Different. Maybe you will be like us too, but maybe everything could remain like now, maybe you will continue to live your life without that nothing concrete happen.
Now, what I would ask you is to try to think if, during your life, you have ever lived ... Particular situations. For example, I have discovered to have magical power when I was sixteen.".
His expression changed suddenly, like he was relieve those sensations.
"I was walking through a dark alley, that evening I strangely perceived humidity in the air and in my head was resounding just a question: "What is happening?". I was feeling, for the first time in my life, in danger, as if someone was observing me. The answer arrived instantaneous, without hesitations. A voice at the end of the alley called my name. I was afraid and, even if my curiosity would pushed me to see of who the voice was, my good sense told me to come back on my steps and to direct me at the main street. When I was arrived about at the end of the alley, when the contour of the people who was walking on the street became clean, he appeared.
It become outright, he have had appeared from nothing. For a common mortal, to see those scenes could bring him faint, could bring a trauma, but I was too busy to try a escape way from that situation. I asked him what he wanted, and he told me that he wanted that I became part of his team. I continued to don't understand nothing, I only felt afraid and tension increase. He, do not receiving an answer, took a gun and make fire on me. It was to hurt me. I thought everything was finish, it would be an unusually die, wouldn't be? To die alone and without have understanding the reason, but it wasn't so.

Exactly when I see the flame got out the barrelled gun of the man my eyes saw another place. I was in Italy...

Maledetto soffitto… - Cursed ceiling...

Maledetto soffitto…

È lei. Sussurro incerta: "Nonna...?"
"No, nulla è inevitabile. Forse lei potrebbe essere diversa."
Prestai maggiore attenzione.
Lei sarà come noi."
Ma allora era vero? Anche loro ne erano a conoscenza? Anche loro erano nel mio sogno? O era la realtà? Un brivido mi percorse la schiena. No, probabilmente li avevo solo fraintesi.
Probabilmente mi ero irrigidita o mossa senza prestarci troppa attenzione, perché mamma mi chiese: "Tesoro, ti sei svegliata?".
E soprattutto, cosa state dicendo?".

Cursed ceiling...

It was her. I whispered unsurely: "Grandma...?"
"Yes?"
I got up quickly, too quickly. In fact, I forgot that I had a bunk bed and, until a metre on my head there was the ceiling.

***
"Will she be okay? How long will last her healing?"
"Keep calm Madame, she have only hit her head, she will be okay until two or tree days."
"The doctor is right darling, keep calm. Thanks a lot, when we will take her home?"
"Call me when she will get up and we'll take a decision. I've to go now, call me if you need me.".
"Bye doctor... Marco, this time we've risk a lot... Please, try to keep at bay your mother because it can happen something worst."
"Veronica, you also know that before or after it could happened, it is inevitable..."
"No, nothing is inevitable. Maybe she could be different."
I payed more attention to them.
"You also know that this is her destiny, and nothing could be changed."
"Right... She will be like us."
So is it true? They also know it? They also were in my dream? Or it was the reality? A shiver went thought my back. No, probably I was only misunderstand them.
I probably stiffened myself or I moved myself without gave attention to it, because mum asked me: "Darling, did you wake up?". I nodded and I half closed my eyes. Dad had the air to be calm, but I knew that it wasn't so, mum was clearly alarmed.

As if they reflect my thoughts, words exploded without I could keep them inside of me: "Are we different? What is inevitable? And, above all, what are you saying?".
