Al centro dell'attenzione - All the attention on me

E no, sarebbe stato tutto troppo facile altrimenti. Sarebbe stato tutto troppo perfetto. Invece è tutto imperfetto; io sono imperfetta.
"Gaia, non puoi lasciarti andare così.". È nonna che mi sussurra all'orecchio.

All the attention on me

Everything happened like this, I haven't done anything a part from open my eyes. I'm in front of hundred people, I can feel their eyes on the stage, on me. I have to go out from there because someone could notice me. Making me little under the set design, I go under the wings.
"Move yourself from here because ballerinas are coming in the wings to leave Odette alone on the stage!" a voice whispers me. I'm too confused to reply him, so I move me trying to don't touch nobody and nothing. I search the back-door that every theatre should have. I find it!
I go in the courtyard; autumn wind hits my face. My body is shivering. It's shivering to the cold's contact with my skin; it's shivering because I'm upset. Legs can't carry my weight, so I fall down in a courtyard's corner. I flex my legs taking them to my chest, and I get closer in my cold body. I make my little little, like the sky is falling on me.
When my parents will discover that I couldn't control my powers in front of hundreds surprised people, they'll probably kill me. I've risked to make people discover me, discover us. Maybe this is not my destiny, maybe this is only a nature joke, maybe my destiny is to remain imperfect forever; my destiny is to make end a wizard's generation. Nobody before me have shown normal people his powers, but maybe I've just done. I'm not worthy of the gift that they've given me. But it's not a privilege, it's only a curse. Why am I not like other girls? Why wasn't I born from a normal people family? Why have I a life with these problems? I have preferred to live a mediocre life, a life without satisfactions. No, everything would be too easy. Everything would be too perfect. But everything is imperfect; I am imperfect.
"Gaia, you can't let yourself go like this.". Grandma is whispering in my ear. "Leave me me alone, you can't understand how I'm feeling; and stop to whisper in my ear, if somebody see me talking alone he would think I'm a insane girl!" screams stopped in my throat. I have just shouted against my grandma, but I haven't the force to ask her sorry. I haven't the force to move a muscle, I haven't the force to react, and maybe I don't want to do it.

Leggiadra come una farfalla - Graceful like a butterfly

In qualche modo, sembra uguale a me.
Aspetta... Ma io sono sul palcoscenico.

Graceful like a butterfly

"Lucia, run because we are late for the bus.". This is the beginning of our Saturday night: Lucia and I loosing our last bus to the theatre. Just a few metres are missing, then I realise that doors are closing; I decide to jump on the first step, but it's still to far... But me jump is stronger. I'm on the bus.
Theatre hall. It's elegant and sumptuous. It's big, with some purple sofas and big chandeliers full of gems and crystals like in a royal castle. I'm a little bit afraid to walk on this carpet because I don't want to crease it. But it won't happen.
People around me are dressed up with gala dresses, women who has just gone to the hairdresser and with a lot of make up on, men in smoking and perfect hair. And then there are Lucia and I: jeans, T-shirt and a few mascara. Lucia, maybe next time it would be better to dress up more elegant to go to the first of Swan Lake.
Lights are switching off, we can't wait to see our first ballet show, finally our dream became reality.
She is so beautiful, Odette I mean. She isn't only beautiful, she is also good at dancing. Well, to the first ballerina's role they don't choose a girl at random. In fact, you can be good or not, but you have to do a lot of sacrifices. These are the worlds that our dancing teacher says.
I've seen a lot of ballerinas do Odette's role, but she seems different from the others. In a strange way, she seems like me. That's not for what she does, but for how she does it. Smile that she is having on her lips is like mine. Feelings that she are increasing in her are like mine. I would say that she is attitudinising like I would do if I am on a big stage like that. Everything is so strange... It's like seeing projected to thirty metres an other me. I close my eyes and I try to identify in her: stage-lights that would impede me to see the public; I wouldn't see them, but I think I would feel his warmth. Music volume would increase, and it would go in my brain, occupying it and deleting all thoughts that would fly away. My body would become a music slave and my movements would become lightly, like butterfly's ones. I'm feeling well, but I don't want to loose the real Odette, so I open my eyes.
Light now is making me blind, maybe because they have switch on the lights. But so why music doesn't stop? Why I'm not sitting on a comfortable seat, but I am under a group of people wearing tights? And more than other... Why can I see the public like I am on the stage?
Wait... I am on the stage.

Studiare, studiare e ancora studiare - Study, study and study

Studiare, studiare e ancora studiare

Study, study and study

If, like me, you have just started classical high school from about a month, I think you have already understand that the only thing to do is to study the right number of hours without going in a psychologist crisis.
High school isn't a world to discover, but a world in which I feel comfortable. I am lucky because I can study subjects that I like, I have found right people to spend time with and teachers are strict at the right level.
The only one that make me crazy is Mr Ferraris (I have inadvertently broken his glasses with my powers). I'm trying to bear him, but I can't. I've tried to read his mind, but I can't (like I can't read mum, dad or my class mates minds... What a pity, maybe I'll to do it in a not so far future).
In this period, I'm trying to learn to use my powers at the necessity, but they appear only after hours of exercises or when I don't aspect them. Grandma and my parents are giving me useful suggestions (sometimes grandma's ones are a little bit strange, like to eat a raw mouse before to do exercises, thing that I don't do), but I'm the only person that can do something to use better my powers.

Waiting to fell asleep, this are thoughts that overcrowd my mind; like, on Saturday afternoon, teenagers overcrowd city centre's streets (where there's the worst chaos).
The last thought goes to my future: the classical ballet that I'm watching at on Saturday evening with one of my dance mates. I think I'll love identify myself in ballerinas who, on the stage, will dance gracefully.
I think that... But perhaps not everything will go on the right way.

Il primo amico del liceo - First friend at high school

"Perché resti vicino a me?

First friend at high school

"I'm so sorry about what happened... Do you need to talk with somebody?". I turned to the sound and I understood to be not alone. My desk mate was looking at me. "Oh, I don't want to talk about it.". I diverted my eyes from his ones, but he was still looking at me.
"Why are you next to me? Why don't you go with your other friends?"
"I don't have friends... And I think they had been rude with you ten minutes ago." I smiled and I prayed that he stayed next to me: I didn't want to spend my first break at high school alone. I didn't know what to say and I was embarrassed... I've never been good with human relations. I looked at him and I studied him. Brown hair and light blue eyes (every girl would do everything for a pair of eyes like them). He seemed calm. He was one of that people who don't need to be in a group of people to feel strong, they feel comfortable alone or in silent too.
He wasn't alone, but if you spend time with me it's like you're alone.
"Thanks" I said hesitant. He looked at me as I had just given him a gift that he dreamed to receive since he was a child. "Why?" "Because you are here with me, I needed somebody to stay with me, but I'm too..." "No problem, keep this." he gave me a tissue "Anyway, my name's Luca." "Gaia, nice to meet you." "I was saying that if you need something..." "If she needs something, what are you going to do?". A tall and voluptuous girl interrupted him with a self-confidence that could floor everyone.
"Nothing sweaty, we were only talking." Luca replied. She looked badly at him, took his hand and brought him in the corridor. He didn't seemed disoriented or surprised; it was like it was the most natural thing in the world.
I was a little bit sad because he went out of the class, but I was happy because there was a person that considered me.

I just hoped that he didn't understand that I've got magical powers because he will look at me like a monster.
