Non possiamo fare nulla
Ha capito.
Lucia ha capito.
"Sì,
forse avrei dovuto dirtelo...
Io ti ho
vista"
"Abbassa
la voce! Cosa hai visto?"
"Tu non
sei normale!"
"Ma cosa
dici? Perché non dovrei esserlo?"
"Ma sì, è
logico no? Comunque io posso mantenere il segreto. Mi devi raccontare tutto!
Come hai iniziato? Hai altri poteri?"
"Non
capisco... Devi esserti immaginata tutto"
"Tutto
cosa? Io ti ho vista scomparire letteralmente davanti ai miei occhi!".
In camera mia.
Sola.
I miei
Sento mamma
che urla: "Nooo!". Cosa succede? Balzo giù dal letto, mi asciugo le
lacrime ancora stagnanti sul mio viso. Corro in cucina.
forze e mi decido a parlare: "Ma...
lamento strozzato: "No, non ci è permesso".
We can't do anything
She has
understood. Lucia has understood.
"Yes,
maybe I should tell it to you... The fact is that I didn't want anybody to know
my secret."
"Are you
crazy? How could you don't tell me anything?"
"Tell her
what?" asks Giada
"Nothing"
I reply with an indifferent tone, but then I look at Lucia's face that reflects
the strangest stupor, I take he from an arm and I drag her outside the dressing
room.
She screams
without thinking about her voice tone: "Don't minimize everything. I saw
you"
"Keep
your voice lower! What did you see?"
"You
aren't normal!"
"What are
you saying? Why shouldn't I be normal?"
"Isn't it
logic? No problem, I can keep your secret. You have to tell me more about you!
How did you start? Have you got other magical powers?
"I don't
understand... You should imagine everything"
"Everything?
I saw you disappear in front of my eyes!".
In my bedroom.
Alone. On my bed. Tears flows without a start and an end.
My parents are
in the kitchen having dinner, but I don't want to eat. I can't eat. I can't
smile. I can't think. Lucia knows. I am the only one that showed her power to a
human after wizards' generation: well done Gaia. My parents don't know it, but
maybe they are the only people who can help me. I'm spending so many hours
waiting the right moment to take all my energy and tell everything to them.
I hear mum who
shouts: "Nooo!". What's happening? I go down the bed and I dry
stagnant tears from my face. I run in the kitchen. Like a picture, the
situation is this: mum is in front of television, her hands on her mouth and
dad is holding her like she is a tiny child to her first year of kindergarten.
I can't see images that television is transmitting, but I just hear a sentence:
"New terroristic attack: Paris again".
11th September
2001, 7th January 2015, 13th November 2015. It happens again. Why can't we do
anything? Why cam twe use our powers for important reasons? It's a cynical
thing... I gather all my strength and I finally talk: "But... Can't we do
anything for them?". Mum replies and just a sentence go over her mouth
like a choked lament: "No, we can't do it".
